Judging by the age of the canvas and stretcher, this painting dates way back to when this was a new style, being propagated by the likes of Picasso, Gaugin and Matisse. Sure wish the artist had signed it. The sky portion is different in UV light and was retouched or changed later. Very striking and sculptural. It has that sense of the excitement of new art in the first part of the 20th century about it, but also holds up well today as a contemporary piece that would look great almost anywhere.
