A delightful hand-carved, one-of-a-kind hand-painted wooden folk art whirligig by Janice Fenimore, whose work is in the collections of both the National Folk Art Museum (New York) and the Smithsonian. The artist died recently at the age of 88. She created a number of these fanciful whirlligigs, with all sorts of characters, but you can't beat Uncle Sam himself!
