A New Orleans native art star who has gone on to become a big player on the New York art scene, with paintings that have sold at auction in the high six figures. This watercolor is typical of her work from the late 80s and 90s. Professionally float-framed, a gem! You might want to replace the mat, which has some spots. The camera had a bit of trouble getting the color of the paper accurately, but I'd describe it as a vanilla/manila/tan color - main photo is pretty close. About the work: "Untitled: Black, Brown and Yellow", 1994, watercolor and ink on paper, signed, dated and inscribed en verso, ext. frame: 12.25 in. x 15.5 in., 10 in. x 12.75 in. without the frame. Provenance: Gift of the artist, 1994 to estate of curator, scholar and advocate for outsider and contemporary art Bill Fagaly, sold to benefit Prospect New Orleans' William A. Fagaly Memorial Fund for Social Impact.
