Clinton Hobart paints in a painstaking Renaissance style, and you can see his breathtaking skill clearly in this still life. I bought six paintings similar to this from him in one batch years ago when he was moving to another state, and hung on to this one, the last I have. I also commissioned a painting with crawfish (as I live in New Orleans) and not surprisingly it sold immediately at my Magazine Street gallery. Lately, Hobart has risen to the level where he has become a licensed painter for Disney, a very hard thing to achieve and a big break for any artist.
