A stunning model of a clipper ship in sterling silver (actually higher silver content than sterling: .960 vs. .925) by Japanese master silversmith Seki Takehiko. I also have a larger version of one of his clipper ships, if you would prefer it. Takehiko was born in 1908, and in 1922 was apprenticed to the master Tajimi Katsuyuki. He created a variety of these limited-edition ships and yachts. The rigging, cabin and flags are in real gold, but I don't know what carat. Presented in a glass-and-wood case. Measurements given are with case; sculpture itself measures about 7" x 4" (measurements of ocean waves).
