An oil on paper I acquired around 7 or so years ago when I was buying from a dealer in the Ukraine. This portrait came with a group of other paintings but without a signature - from the Soviet area, when materials were scarce and many, I'd say most paintings were done on heavy paper (cardboard). Framed in a simple modern frame, behind plexiglas (sorry for the reflections). It's a sketch, so do note the various imperfections - but they help to give it that "rough" sketch look that many like.
