A lovely portrait of an elegant turn-of-the-century woman, perhaps commissioned by a devoted husband (she has a ring on her right hand, which is more common as a wedding ring in northern and eastern European countries, but who knows? Could be a model, mistress or society beauty! Delicate and refined treatment of her limpid green eyes and other facial features. Painting has been restored, as you can see from the back, and framed in an expensive wooden frame. Dimensions given are framed; canvas itself measures 35.3" x 25.5".
