Seven or eight years ago I had a contact in Ukraine I was buying paintings from -- and then he disappeared. Too bad, because the quality was quite high and they were very popular with collectors here; you could get really fine artistry very affordably, because there just wasn't a market for even very good artists over there. Anyway, here's a lovely Impressionist lake scene - painted on heavy paperboard as much of the work during the Soviet period was, since there just wasn't canvas around and artists were usually pretty poor. I wasn't able to find out the name of the artist of this painting. Comes in gold wood frame, wired and ready to hang.
