Lady Justice (Large Bronze) -- for your favorite attorney or judge!, Late 19th Century
Bronze
30 x 12.50 x 10 in
SOLD
This is no diminutive desktop bronze, but an imposing 30" tall and very powerful figure of Lady Justice, wearing a blindfold (symbolizing impartiality) and crushing the head of the snake of evil and lies against the Book of Law with her foot. She holds the sword of Justice in her right hand, and the scales to weigh the evidence fairly in her left. Beautifully patinated bronze, no dents or flaws, mounted on a marble base. Gorgeous detail. Guessing late 19th or early 20th century. A fantastic gift for an attorney or judge you care a lot about - or for yourself if you just happen to love either very impressive antique bronzes or, well, Justice!
