Henry Malfroy was a notable Post-Impressionist French painter who showed regularly in Paris, and was included in both the Paris Salon and the Salon des Independents! The son of painter Charles Malfroy (I actually have a wonderful painting in my inventory by Charles as well!), Henry likewise focused on port scenes and landscapes. He exhibited regularly in Paris, at the Salon of French Artists and of Independents. In this gorgeous painting, we see commercial sailboats pulled up along the wharf of a Mediterranean village. The bright, dappled colors are a sensational example of Post-Impressionism at its delightful best. Comes framed in a very nice gilded wood antique frame. Overall size 13" x 16", image size 9.5" x 12.75". A chance to own a superb painting from the world's favorite place and period of art at an affordable price.
