Weiller
Harbor Town (Large), 21st Century
Oil Paint

This glorious landscape is signed "Weiller" subtly on the lower left, but I cannot find out who this might be. It is contemporary, not antique. For my own part, the mystery painter doesn't disturb me much. In my personal collection are only seven paintings (I have a small space), and only one of them is by a well-known artist. Two are unsigned, three are signed by artists for whom there are no records. I "buy with my eye" as do many of my collector clients, and this is a good example of a truly great-looking painting that can be had affordably because the painter is unidentified. It is large and delightful to the eye, bursting with color. There's a lot of Cezanne here, as you can see. Painting itself measures 30" x 40"; with frame it's 38" x 48". I'm guessing this is about a $600 frame job, so as long as you like it (I do) you can save the framing cost. In great condition.
