This charming painting of a cat is signed, but I cannot make out the signature – so it is a mystery to me. I acquired it for obvious reasons – the draftsmanship is superb and very distinctive. This artist could REALLY draw. And the composition overall is wonderful, with the cat and cushion occupying the lower right of the painting framed by the window she’s peering out (which cats love to do, of course). Captures the spirit of cats perfectly, I think. I listed it as mid-20th century but it could be a bit earlier based on the appearance of the back of the canvas. 20" x 25" (15" x 20" canvas only). I hate to sell this without knowing if it is by a valuable artist, but I don't have the bandwidth to research the signature!
