Nicolas Briganti

Gondolas at Sunset, Venice, 1900-1909
Oil Paint
20 x 26 in
Painted right around the turn of the 20th century, a lovely, peaceful sunset scene in the lagoon of Venice, showing gondolas at sail. The Impressionist style is particularly evident in the water, with echoes of both Monet and the Pointillists. Briganti (1861 - 1944) painted so many scenes of Venice that he ultimately became identified with this subject. 20"h x 26"w (14"h x 20"w unframed)
