When I saw this large portrait I was immediately struck with the richness of color and detail captured in the dancer’s elaborate costume and the curtains behind her. They show a real mastery of the artist with oil paint. But even more than that, you can appreciate the serene, faraway expression on her pretty face as she gazes off to the right.
