Gerald Fairclough
Dancer, Late 20th Century

An exquisitely rendered drawing of a dancer in a moment of pause. What I like best about this drawing is its lack of the usual glamour associated with pictures of ballet dancers. To me, this portrait shows the working side of the dancer, stopping to examine her toe shoes. Still, it has the usual sensual attractiveness associated with the finely-tuned body of a dancer.
