Emery Clark is a very well-known Louisiana artist, and particularly respected here in New Orleans, where she served as one of the original founders of the Contemporary Art Center (CAC), our chief contemporary art museum. She is best known for her dreamy pastel seascapes such as this one, a handprinted serigraph that is numbered 47/350. You can see here her practice of letting the pigment spill past the natural edges of the image on to the surrounding paper. I have included a photo of the bio information that is affixed to the back of this piece. Actual print is 23" x 29" without frame.
