A lovely forest scene by Danish painter Axel Henrichsen, who was active in Europe at the end of the 19th century and into the mid-20th. Painted on a wood panel, and signed with his monograph. Dated on back “1894” with inscription in Danish. 13" x 17" with frame, 10" x 14.5" without.
Axel Thorsten Henrichsen was a Danish artist of the 19th and 20th centuries who painted scenes of his native countryside. He married Sorine Christiane Sommer and had three stepsons. He passed away in 1942, in the middle of World War II.
