A gorgeous landscape painted in Germany in 1919, by a talented German artist whose name I have been unable to decipher. The word "Munich" appears in the signature. A cool green foreground of rolling hills provides the setting and contrast for a range of sharp crags rising in the distance, lit by a rising morning sun. Quite convincing and rendered with the sure strokes of someone who really knew what they were doing. Photographed in two different light conditions. Great condition, no paint loss or craquelure. Comes framed in a nice gold frame in fine condition. Size with frame is 24" x 28"; canvas only is 17" x 21".
