Wish I could make out the signature on this fine 19th-c. hunting scene. It's superbly painted. It depicts a spaniel flushing a pheasant, at the edge of an open field beside a wood. Both dog and pheasant are quite realistic, not easy to achieve as so often dogs in these scenes appear wooden and unnatural. As you can see from the back it's quite an old painting but in very good shape for its age. Comes in an elaborate wood frame, as shown. Note that the size given is the FRAMED SIZE; actual canvas size is 12" x 16".
